About Maurizio Avogadri Ramakavya
Maurizio Avogadri was 23 when he decided it was important to personally do something to help in the absurd situation of the Bosnian war. At the time, he was working as an opera singer in Italian theaters, but that didn't stop him from completing seven missions to refugee camps in Maribor, Slovenia, and then, from 1994 to New Year's Eve in 1996, directly in the besieged city of Sarajevo. For the first two months, he collaborated with the humanitarian organization "Beati Costruttori di Pace (Blaženi graditelji mira)” but later, he organized fundraisers outside churches entirely on his own, distributing the funds to refugee families from the countryside who were taking refuge in Sarajevo. He wrote several newspaper articles and took photographs about his experience. We are here sharing some of his selfless work.
